In recent weeks there has been a lot of speculation regarding his potential transfer targets and it looks like the prestige manager will urge the board to make Toni Kroos a Manchester United player. Since Paul Scholes retired Man Utd have failed to find a playmaker in central midfield that scores for fun and Kroos looks the perfect fit.

In addition Van Gaal will look to boost his center of defense with the loss of Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand this summer. A player likely to be targeted by the Dutchman is Mats Hummels, an accomplished central defender that will fit right in at Manchester United. In terms of the left back position, Manchester United will be looking to tie up the Luke Shaw deal as soon as possible after reports of interest from Liverpool FC and a host of others.

With regards to the wingers, we wait to see if Van Gaal will choose to bolster his options. The future Man United careers of Wilfried Zaha, Ashley Young and Nani are up in the air and with Louis Van Gaal reportedly interested in signing either Lucas Moura, Arjen Robben, Marco Reus or Thomas Muller means these Man United wingers may be on there way out. Nonetheless Ryan Giggs and others certainly will have their input on the matter.
