January Attempt!  ( 19th January 2015 )

BET 1:

Liverpool – No clean sheet (vs Swansea)
(1.50 odds) (29/12/2014)
Bet £20, Return £30

Why?

We feel Liverpool will comfortably win this game, however Swansea are more than capable of scoring past this Liverpool defence, which hasn’t kept too many clean sheets in the past few months.

BET 2:

Porto to win either half (vs Rio Ave)
Ipswich – Asian handicap +0.5 (vs Charlton)
(1.43 odds) (30/12/2014)
Bet £30, Return £42.90

Why?

Porto are expected to win this game but may find it fairly tough, however we see them winning at least one of the halves in this away match. Ipswich are on great form having won 7 and drew 2 in their last 9 games. This should be a comfortable win for them. We have gone for them to win or draw to be safe.

BET 3:

West Ham – Win (Draw No Bet) (vs West Brom)
Liverpool – Win either half
(1.66 odds) (01/01/2015)
Bet £42.90, Return £71.21 £52.33

Why?

West Ham have had two tough games lately but played well in both and we expect them to potentially beat West Brom at home on New years day! This is a game Liverpool should win but we didn’t want to risk it too much as Leicester tend to play well in the second half of games as they showed against Manchester United earlier in the season. To make it safer we went for Liverpool to win either half.

BET 4:

Wycombe Wanderers – Win (vs Hartlepool)
(1.61 odds) (03/01/2015)
Bet £52.33, Return £84.25

Why?

Second in the league against bottom. This should be a routine win. Wycombe’s captain Paul Hayes looks set to return to the fold. Although their on-form striker has left for Millwall, we feel Wycombe will be too much for Hartlepool to handle in this League 2 clash!

BET 5:

Sunderland – Win (vs Leeds)
Manchester City – Win (vs Sheffield Wednesday)
(1.85 odds) (04/01/2015)
Bet £84.25, Return £155.86

Why?

Sunderland are playing a strong starting 11 against a broken Leeds team who are struggling at the bottom of the Championship this season. Sunderland should do well against this team, who are focusing on the Championship. Manuel Pelligrini always sets his team up to win and will challenge for the FA Cup as always. We see them having a tough game but should win against this Sheffield team, who may have won their last 2 games, however against the two bottom teams in the Championship.

BET 6:

Burnley v Spurs – Over 1.5 match goals
PSG – Asian handicap +0.5 (vs Montpellier)
(1.51 odds) (05/01/2015)
Bet £155.86, Return £235.35

Why?

We fancy a few goals in this one with Burnley  and Spurs both finding their shooting boots recently with 10 goals between them in their last two games.  Burnley are also missing many defenders which makes us think Spurs will enjoy themselves up front today. The likes of George Boyd will also look to add to his recent goals as Burnely seek to cause a FA Cup upset.

PSG absolutely dominated Montpellier when they played them a couple weeks ago. Montpellier didn’t have a shot and PSG had 68% possession. Also Ibrahimovic is back in contention after playing 90 minutes last week so I think you may appreciate this selection!

BET 7:

Rio Ave – Asian handicap +0.5 (vs Gil Vicente)
Malaga – Asian handicap +0.5 (vs Levante)
(1.23 odds) (06/01/2015)
Bet £235.35, Return £289.48

Why?

Both Rio Ave and Malaga are facing weaker teams in their respective cup competitions and it would be a big shock if either opponent got a victory in either of the games. We can see both teams selected winning in these encounters so we went for both to either win or draw.

BET 8:

Valencia Asian handicap +0.5 (vs Espanyol)
Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid – Over 0.5 match goals
(1.18 odds) (07/01/2015)
Bet £289.48, Return £341.58

Why?

Valencia are on a high after ending the long winning run of Real Madrid. Los Che came from behind to overcome Carlo Ancelotti’s men 2-1, and that maintained their fine form at the Mestalla. Valencia have lost just once on home soil in ten matches, and that was a 1-0 reverse against Barcelona. We see them seeing past Espanyol who they have a good recent record against. We also added the over 0.5 match goals in the Madrid to boost the odds a little. Madrid derbies are made for goals!

BET 9:

Valencia – Asian handicap +1.5 (vs Celta Vigo)
Chelsea – Win either half (vs Newcastle)
(1.28 odds) (10/01/2015)
Bet £341.58, Return £437.22

Why?

All you have to do is look at the recent form of both Valencia and Celta Vigo to see Valencia are huge favourites. Celta Vigo have lost 5 in their last 6 games, whereas Valencia haven’t lost in their last 6 games. We are very surprised by these odds as we can afford for Valencia to lose by 1 goal and still win the bet with the bet chosen. In terms of Chelsea versus Newcastle we see this being a straight forward win for Chelsea at home against a manager-less club  that have lost 5 in their last 7 games in Newcastle. We made it even safer by selecting Chelsea to win either half. Good luck everyone!

BET 10:

Atletico Madrid – Asian handicap +2.5 (vs Barcelona)
Stoke – No clean sheet (vs Arsenal)
(1.28 odds) (11/01/2015)
Bet £437.22, Return £559.64

Why?

Have the bookmakers not seen Diego Simeone’s side lately? Barclelona face no straight forward task facing the champions of Spain, who aren’t at all in bad form. Barcelona will be lucky to win, never mind win by 3 so we have gone for this selection because of the shockingly high odds in favour of Atletico Madrid. Barcelona’s manager recently fell out with Lionel Messi and although the front 3 played well mid-week they face a stern test against an Atletico Madrid team that are tough to break down as they demonstrated against Real Madrid on Wednesday.

We reckon Arsenal are more than capable of scoring with the news of Oliver Giroud, Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil returning to the squad. Stoke have been on form but Arsenal have a good record against Stoke at home so this should give them a mental edge. Alexis Sanchez has been on fire also and Giroud demonstrated missing games doesn’t ruin his goalscoring sharpness after dispatching a nice goal against Liverpool after coming back from injury before the suspension he received last month. Although Stoke may be difficult to break down in the first half we think Arsenal will surely get that goal we need. Hope you appreciate our research and tip breakdowns.

BET 11:

Espanyol v Valencia – Over 0.5 second half goals
(1.25 odds) (13/01/2015)
Bet £559.64, Return £699.55

Why?

With Valencia rumoured to be resting a few key players we avoided backing on-form Valencia in this match. This game has always seen goals with an average of over 4 goals in the last five meetings between the two. There has also always been a second half goal in the previous five meetings between the two and with it being a second leg in the cup we think it will go down to the wire with both teams attempting to get their crucial goals towards the end of the game.

BET 12:

Atletico Madrid – No clean sheet (vs Real Madrid)
(1.12 odds) (15/01/2015)
Bet £699.55, Return £783.50

Why?

As we saw on the weekend Atletico Madrid got the run around from a devastating Barcelona performance and Atletico may be physically and mentally drained from that performance regardless of their victory against Real Madrid last week. In addition Real Madrid will be desperate to overturn the tie and do one over on their fierce rivals. Cristiano Ronaldo looks likely to return to the starting lineup after being rested last week in against Atletico. We expect Real Madrid to find the back of the net at least once with their talented strike force.

BET 13:

QPR – No clean sheet (vs Manchester United)
(1.14 odds) (17/01/2015)
Bet £783.50, Return £893.19

Why?

Manchester United will be as prepared and determined as ever to get the 3 points in this fixture. Although QPR have performed okay at home recently this game is too important for the Manchester side and it is vital they win in order to stay in with a chance of winning the league. With Southampton and co threatening their chances of top four this is the type of game Manchester United must win as they don’t want to lose points against such teams, therefore we’re confident that they should score. If you want to cash the money in already that is fine as we will be restarting again soon but good luck to all that are placing bet 13!

BET 14:

Arsenal – No clean sheet (vs Manchester City)
(1.12 odds) (18/01/2015)
Bet £893.19, Return £1000.37

Why?

A fresh Aguero will play on Sunday and give Per Mertersacker a hard time. Arsenal always find it difficult in the big games and we hope this one repeats the past. Both teams will be raring to go and we expect goals in this encounter just as past games between the two have given us goals.
