Liverpool’s Lallana INJURED: Misses start of season with knee problem

Yes, it’s true. Liverpool’s Adam Lallana sustained an injury in training on Friday 25th July and will miss the opening month of the Barclays Premier league season. This is awful news for Liverpool fans who were looking forward to their new England international showing his worth.

Unfortunately, Adam Lallana will miss Liverpool’s opening clash with his former team Southampton, which may or may not disappoint Liverpool’s new star. It can be an awkward situation facing your former club, especially so close to leaving them. Southampton shone last season under Mauricio Pochettino, now manager of Tottenham Hotspur, and now face a difficult task replicating what they managed to do last season with the departure of the majority of their key players. Will they even survive this season?

Liverpool is distraught over the loss of Adam Lallana, but the scousers did at least confirm Lallana’s injury does not require surgery, following an assessment carried out by club medical staff. However, the news is clearly a setback for the England international, who will undergo further assessment in America and on his return to Liverpool.
