Transfer news: PSG buy David Luiz for £40million from Chelsea

Paris Saint German are finalizing a spectacular deal to bring David Luiz to France for £40  million from Chelsea according to Sky sources.

This will make the Brazilian the most expensive defender in the world. David Luiz, 27, appears to be deemed surplus to requirements by Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho. Skipper John Terry has signed a one-year extension to his contract, and Gary Cahill has been a fixture in the heart of the Blues defence.

David Luiz

  • Appearances 39 (5)
  • Goals 0
  • Assists 2
  • Yellows 12
  • Reds 0

Branislav Ivanovic is also capable of playing as a centre-back, and Mourinho – who has used Luiz predominantly as a defensive midfielder – is also known to be a fan of rising youngster Tomas Kalas.

David Luiz joined Chelsea from Benfica in 2011, in a £23.5m deal during the January transfer window, and he still has two years left on his contract at Stamford Bridge. The Chelsea star is now on his way to Paris for an astonishing £40 million.

We are gobsmacked by this fee. What do you guys think? Let us know by commenting below.

Cristiano Ronaldo could quit Real Madrid soon

Cristiano Ronaldo has been a vital player for Real Madrid since he moved to the Spanish giants and he has improved year upon year. But is his time at the Galaticos coming to an end?

c ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo’s main goal at the Santiago Bernabeu has been to win the Champions League for the second time and his dream may come true soon as Real Madrid face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League final on Sunday 24th May 2014.  Ronaldo has considered this game to be a “50/50” encounter, however Real Madrid truly have a great chance to get their  first Champions League trophy since 2002. They truly can’t afford to let this chance slip up with the pressure from their fans and the board.

However if Ronaldo does win this competition with Real Madrid we could potentially see the end of his stay in La Liga amid interest from French giants PSG and Monaco who have the funds to tempt the Portuguese star away. Cristiano Ronaldo has became visibly frustrated during this season  because of the way of new signing Gareth Bale has seemed to get in his way by taking free-kicks and by occupying his  favored positions when the two are on the pitch. This may be another factor that influences his future plans.

In addition Ronaldo has spoke upon his desire to return to Manchester United one day and a Champions League win may be a suitable time to make his exit. Ronaldo moved to Real Madrid from Manchester Utd in 2009 for a record fee of £80 million but he still has an intimate relationship with the majority of Man United fans who adore him. We, ourselves see Ronaldo wanting to stay at least another year before deciding to move on, however weirder things have happened and we will be following this story very closely.

Jose Mourinho – Is he a clueless manager or a genius manager?

Some of you may be thinking the title of this post is complete nonsense. But, is he an clueless manager who does not know what he’s doing? Of course he is not! He is blatantly a tactical genius with outstanding man-management skills! Jose Mourinho is certainly a master of his craft. Having studied the game he has adopted a number of great skills that have allowed him to achieve what he has in the game – including 2 champions league winning medals with Porto and Inter Milan. These achievements would go well on any of our CV’s.

The two-time Chelsea manager is one that loves to play mind games. Sometimes he attempts to disrupt the morale of opposition managers, players or teams with his mischievous messages in the press. An example can be found in his supposed attempts to sign Wayne Rooney at the beginning of the 2013/2014 season from the champions Manchester United, which led to disruption of the Manchester United camp.

Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea side will come up against a  fired up Paris Saint German (PSG) side on the 2nd April 2014 in the quater finals of the Champions League 2013/2014 season and Mourinho has decided to approach the game in a respectful manner by praising his former player Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Perhaps the unavailability of key on-form players such as Nemanja Matic and Samuel Etoo have added to Mourinho feeling slightly wary of the threat of the opposition. We predict a cautious Chelsea side to feature against PSG. They will attempt to grab a goal and keep  the game tight as Jose Mourinho loves to do, however with an attacking combination of Edison Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic it may be difficult for Chelsea to hold on to a draw against them.
