Liverpool in BIG TROUBLE as they come up against Real Madrid?

‘I couldn’t think of a Liverpool player who performed well against QPR’.

Jamie Carragher is unimpressed! Are you?

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has recently taken a swipe it his own beloved club by suggesting the performances of all the team were not up to standard against QPR.

“Liverpool were awful,” Carragher reflected. “Even when they were winning 1-0 I was thinking ‘who is going to be man of the match? Who has done well?’

“I couldn’t think of a Liverpool player who performed well. I thought Simon Mignolet made a couple of very good saves but he’s also conceded a couple of goals; he could have done better with the last one.

“I can’t think of a single Liverpool player who can be really pleased with his performance. They were very poor and as Stevie [Gerrard] said afterwards, they were very lucky.

“But at times you get that in a season; the flip side to that is you can play well and be unlucky.

“The problem is that Liverpool have probably only played well in one game this season and that’s the big worry.

“In the first half Liverpool looked like QPR have performed in away games – there was a lack of intensity.  They were bullied – they couldn’t cope with an old-fashioned 4-4-2.”

Not ready for Real Madrid?

It could possibly be the worse time for Liverpool to face off against the Champions League holders with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric and JamesRodriguez ready to step on the field at Anfield. Liverpool fans will be happy to discover that Wales starlet Gareth Bale is not available for selection!

Liverpool’s Lallana INJURED: Misses start of season with knee problem

Yes, it’s true. Liverpool’s Adam Lallana sustained an injury in training on Friday 25th July and will miss the opening month of the Barclays Premierleague season. This is awful news for Liverpool fans who were looking forward to their new England international showing his worth.

adam lallana

Unfortunately Adam Lallana will miss Liverpool’s opening clash with his former team Southampton, which may or may not disappoint Liverpool’s new star. It can be an awkward situation facing your former club, especially so close to leaving them. Southampton shone last season under Mauricio Pochettino, now manager of Tottenham Hospur and now face a difficult task replicating what they managed to do last season with the departure of the majority of their key players. Will they even survive this season?

Liverpool are distraught over the loss of Adam Lallana, but the scousers did at least confirm Lallana’s injury does not require surgery, following an assessment carried out by club medical staff. However, the news is clearly a setback for the England international, who will undergo further assessment in America and on his return to Liverpool.

Liverpool Ponder Summer Move For Swedish Attacking Starlet!

Premier League giants Liverpool are understood to be interested in signing young Fulham front man Muamer Tankovic at the end of this season.

The Merseysiders are said to have been keeping close tabs on the Swede of late with a view to possibly landing the player this summer, with the Reds having even recently sent scouts down to west London in order to watch Tankovic first hand.

And with Tankovic’s current deal with the Cottagers set to run out on June 30 2014, the 18-year-old will be available to pick up on a Bosman-style free transfer come the climax to this campaign, which makes the attacking starlet an even more attractive proposition to Liverpool head coach Brendan Rodgers.

Tankovic only made his first-team debut for the west London club in their FA Cup third-round replay with Norwich City at Craven Cottage earlier this month.

However, the player had previously be shining for the top-flight strugglers in their Under-21 Premier League campaign, where Tankovic had managed to register an impressive eight goals and one assist in total in his 112 encounters for his club.

What are the chances of it happening? 6/10 for me.
